Party in Rotterdam!

Every year, on the last Saturday of July, the Caribbean are brought to Rotterdam. A beautiful parade of people, of all ages, shapes, sizes and color, wearing the most colorful outfits while dancing and celebrating. That is 'Zomercarnaval' or roughly translated, 'Summer Carnival'. It's actually the same kind of carnival as in the Caribbean, but since their carnival is in wintertime (around February) and it's still cold out here, we have it in the summer.

I love the wide range of people involved in these festivities, it's shows that no matter where you come from, we can all have a good time together. Many cultures are represented and there is sooo many food and music of all kinds. Definitely a must see if you live in Holland!

The party starts a day before the carnival, with the 'battle of the drums'.

OOTD: A liiiiiiiiiittle touch of orange..

Yay!!! Sunshine today (see the big smile on my face?)! Jim, Jaelynn and I immediately went outside to go for a nice walk. I also had to do some shopping for my first giveaway that I will be hosting soon, so be sure not to miss that!

Today's outfit was simple but very comfy to walk in all day. I added the orange belt for just a little 'pop' of color. Hope you all are having a nice day!

Wishing for good weather.... or these items!

I haven't been out much, because of the bad weather, so no outfit of the day post this time. This summer is the worst, only rain and temperatures no more than 17-19 degrees Celsius (62 - 66 degrees Fahrenheit). Weh weh weh. Hope your summer is way better. I heard that it is extremely hot in some parts of the U.S. Sooooo jealous!!

Anyway, staying indoors makes me want to shop, shop and shop online. I haven't bought anything yet, but these items listed below are DEFINITELY a want!

OOTD: Movie Night

 

Today Jim and I FINALLY got to see Transformers 3, a movie we both wanted to see but just didn't have the time to go to earlier. Anyway, great movie! The weather was really weird, when we left the house the sun was shining brights and by the time we got to the cinema it was pouring. Luckily it was dry again when we got out of the car (open shoes here!!). How do you like my new shoes by the way? I love them! I originally wanted the "Mengarelli' shoes from Aldo but since they don't ship to my country I had to look for an alternative. I found these beauties on Ebay. They are also available in black, maybe I'll get those too ;-).

P.S: The pics were made inside (again) because we took them afterwards and since it was already late it was too dark outside.

Supersize these!!

 

It's been a while since my last "supersize that!", but when I saw these dresses, I had to express my feelings. I'm in love, it's just not fair :-S. I really really like the yellow one (and the orange one, and maybe the blue one too...).I stumbled upon them while browsing through Dorothy Perkins' beautiful dresses and even though most of their clothing are available up to a (UK) size 22, these only run up to a size 14. Boohoo! Please DP, can we have that supersized?!!

OOTD: Black 'n White

So like I mentioned before, the 4th of July was our 2nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunately Jim had to work, so I didn't expect to do much that day. That's why it was a big surprise when he called from work, telling me to get dressed and get Jaelynn ready. He had made reservations at my favorite restaurant and even arranged for my parents to babysit! So sweet! We went out to diner and it was lovely. Below some pics of my outfit. Ow, and I'm in LOVE with my new triangle clutch and shoes by the way... ;-)
